2011 - a year of change

2011 saw our shop closed in Springwood and we transferred fabrics I couldn't part with to our home.
I took over the guest bedroom, our lounge room, study (and bathroom) which is working out really well.   We have a few classes at home (studio) which the girls love.  It keeps my hand in and still in contact with a lot of the lovely girls from the classes.   My husband Roger is still making his birdhouses and quilt hangers, and is busy with orders which keeps him out of my hair and lets me get on with what I love....... sewing and painting.

This photo is of a lovely quilt I made for our new granddaughter - Scarlett Rose - she was born in May and just before my birthday.

We kept some of the shelving from the shop and set up the guestroom and the study which has worked a treat.

I just love being able to walk down the stairs to work.   Time is now my own and I find I get so much more done.    So 2011 has been a year of changes, new directions, and rest.   New beginnings with a lovely new grand daughter, discovering baby shops all over again.

I have since painted all the tables cream which looks good, and this bookshelf unit is next.

My drawer unit from my old craft room has proven to be a godsend - just high enough to cut fabrics on, and having 20 huge drawers to keep all the bits and pieces - love fossicking through the drawers - I keep forgetting about all the 'stuff' I have accumulated during the past few years.

This drawer unit (we originally had two but sold one) were from a hospital in the 1940's and still in original condition.   We could have sold them many many times over.
